On July 4, one Marine was lightly chewed by a shark in North Carolina. With more shark attacks occurring with every passing week, shark-related hype and paranoia is at an all time high.

When it comes to dangerous wildlife, however, sharks are hardly a blip on the dangerous animal radar. It turns out, sharks only kill an average 10 people a year. They are dangerous, but not deadly.

You know what is deadly? Hippos, humans and above all, mosquitos.
