The hippo can be extremely aggressive, and is responsible for more human fatalities in Africa than any other large animal.
According to numerous sources, hippos kill almost 3,000 humans a year, which is an astounding number when you consider lions only attack up to 700 people annually. Tigers? Only 50-60 deaths. Sharks? 4.3 fatalities (an average taken from 2001 to 2006).
This particular encounter (in the video) took place in January of 2015 on the Chobe River in the African nation of Botswana.
