Amidst all the hullabaloo surrounding the Confederate Flag, the Army has announced that it will not remove any names belonging to Confederate soldiers or officers from its bases.

This decision was confirmed Wednesday by Army Gen. Steven Warren, who assured reporters that no Army installations, posts or bases named after Confederate soldiers would have their names changed. According to Warren, no military departments are considering such a name change.

Notable bases named after former Confederates include Fort Bragg, Fort Benning and Fort Hood.
