Three North Carolina men have been arrested by the FBI and charged for violating firearm and explosive regulations. According to an unsealed affidavit, Walter Eugene Litteral, Christopher James Barker and Christopher Todd Campbell planned a deadly plot to lure servicemen participating in Jade Helm 15 into a trap and kill them.

Jade Helm 15 is a multi-state military event that began in Arizona, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Texas and Utah on July 15. The sudden presence of military members walking around both in uniform and in plain clothes has caused a rash of conspiracy theories to flare up all throughout the participating states.

For the record, Campbell, Barker and Litteral lived in North Carolina, which is about 1,400 miles away from the military exercise. Despite the comfort of distance, the three conspirators believed that Jade Helm 15 was a precursor to an Obama-led military invasion. And they were ready to take steps to make sure that didn’t happen.

Here are a few items Campbell, Barker and Litteral stockpiled to carry out their scheme:

– Kevlar helmets

– Body armor

– Homemade grenades inside tennis balls

– Pipe bombs

– Gun powder

– .338 caliber rifle

– Handheld radios

Litteral also attempted to purchase a firearm for Barker, whose conviction for cocaine possession bars him from purchasing a gun in North Carolina.

With these supplies, Campbell, Barker and Litteral hoped to booby trap the Jade Helm exercise and murder trapped or injured military members.

The local military surplus store owner who helped supply this cache grew suspicious and contacted the FBI in June. The agency was able to gather a whopping 60 pages worth of evidence and bust the conspirators before they could even get their murderous plot off the ground.
