Perry Cormen is 91, a World War II bomber pilot who successfully tandem jumped a few days ago with the United States Army’s Golden Knights parachute team in Homestead, Florida doesn’t seem to be afraid of anything.

That’s apparent when you see him in full dive uniform, telling of his times as a pilot and instructor in the mid-1940s.

“I was in the air command most of the time as an instructor, and I went from B25s to B24s to 17s.”

What doesn’t hit you is the fact that he’s indeed, a nonagenarian. He looks like he could be in his sixties.

“It’s a great feeling, and also because I can do it,” Cormen told a South Florida NBC affiliate station. “I want to prove to myself that at my age, I can do almost anything.”

According to the report, the military branch is using these outings to accomplish two things: thank veterans for their service, and help bring future military members — recruits — in.

It all stems from the National Defense Authorization Act, signed by Barack Obama, in December.
