Nick Janowitz, nicknamed “The Patriot”, a United States Navy veteran and popular MMA fighter, will attempt to do something on Friday in Elmhurst, Illinois that, to most of us, seems incomprehensible.

Doing more than two pull-ups.

Actually, he and his fellow coworker, Jeremy Miller, are going to attempt way, way more than just a couple. They’re setting their sights — somehow — on the world record within a 24-hour period: 7,306.

And it’s all in the name of charity, Pull-up Bars for Patriots.

Janowitz already owns the world record for burpees.

More from the Navy Times:

“I’m doing this to honor and show my gratitude to those who have died for our country,” said Miller. “It’s mind blowing to me how many kids my age take advantage of the freedoms they have without taking into consideration the sacrifices that were made so they can have that freedom. Hearing stories of what these fallen men and women have done for us makes doing 24 hours of pull-ups seem a little bit easier.”

The event will be held in downtown Elmhurst outside in the City Centre Plaza (147 N. York St.) starting at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 28.

Elmhurst is about 20 miles west of Chicago.

On May 14, 2016, a then 17-year-old high school Andrew Shapiro set the current bar for pull-ups in Great Falls, Virginia. It took place during the American Cancer Society’s “Langley McLean Relay” for Life event.
