In 2012, someone turned in a suitcase that had been mysteriously left by the side of the road to the police in Moore, Oklahoma.
Inside were letters, documents, and pictures detailing the military background of a man named Sillvester Lee Carpenter.
The catch?
Carpenter retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1963 and there are no known records of him in the area since that same time period.
For the last five years, Moore Police has been trying to unravel the mystery and find the rightful owner.
Interestingly, many of the missions that Carpenter completed were located in North Korea. Recently, they decided to release pictures of the suitcase’s contents in hopes that someone will have any information.

“No idea how this ended up on the side of the road but someone is missing it,” Sgt. Jeremy Lewis said.
Police posted some of the contents to social media since it has helped them identify people in the recent past.
If you have any information about Carpenter, the possible owner, or the contents, please contact the Moore Police Department.
