The White House has finally changed its stance regarding the right to take selfies. As of today, visitors on the White House public tour will be allowed to take photographs and post to social media while inside the historic home.

Tourists have been barred from taking photographs during tours for 40 years, and social media has always been banned within White House walls. Visitors can now enjoy both–with a few restrictions of course.

The policy change permits phones and cameras with lenses shorter than 3 inches. Tripods, selfie sticks, detachable lenses, video cameras and livestreaming remain banned.

Visitors are encouraged to post their photos on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook under the hashtag #WhiteHouseTour. Let the rabid selfie-taking begin.
