In 1948, country music singer T. Texas Tyler recorded the spoken word piece “The Deck of Cards,” a story about a WWII soldier who was caught playing cards in church by his sergeant. After being arrested for the offense, the soldier broke down the significance of each card explained how the deck had been his guiding light – his bible, almanac, and prayer book.
In the video above, magician Justin Flom recreates the soldiers story with a deck of cards and ends with a surprise, thanking soldiers who are overseas giving their lives for our freedom.
