What happens when you go to prison?

For most, the usual. Three square meals a day. Bars. Orange clothing. Loneliness. Regret.

But for the most powerful drug trafficker in the world, billionaire Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman? It’s far from the norm. Getting thrown in prison means your henchmen building a mile-long underground tunnel beneath your prison cell shower that’s ventilated and lit with a small motorbike awaiting your arrival so you can pop a wheelie after speeding through the entrance into the wide open, free world.

Here’s a video of the tunnel taken from the perspective of someone walking through it. For someone the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration says has surpassed the reach and scope of Pablo Escobar’s legendary narcotic empire, it seems fitting.
