To put it bluntly? This isn’t your dad’s Dodge.

Shoot. This might not even be your grandson’s Dodge.

The U.S. Air Force commissioned this Challenger-like, HEMI-powered vehicle — the Dodge “Vapor” — as part of a “rolling marketing campaign” to spread the word among younger audiences about the potential mechanical and technical career opportunities the branch has to offer.

Sure, its function is more or less cosmetic, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t pack some awe-inspiring features and capabilities. Because it definitely does.

Here are a few:

  • Its matte finish top coat absorbs radar just like the stealthy F-117 Nighthawk.
  • Its steering wheel has been replaced by an aircraft yoke. Its gear selector has been substituted with a throttle lever.
  • It has scissor doors that swing upward.
  • It has a dashboard that consists of LCD monitors that allow for GPS navigation, internet access and, oh, thermal imaging. So, basically, you can drive without headlights and through the dash still see where you’re going.
  • It also has a “periscope-like 360-degree night-vision camera” that’s on top of the vehicle — so you can see your way through the dark without anyone ever seeing you.
  • Its wheels are dressed with carbon fiber tire caps.
  • A “Mad Max” style grille
