This was almost two years ago, in the Rose Garden at the White House, when rain started falling down heavy enough that the Commander-in-Chief had no other choice but to “send in the Marines”.

Not in the traditional sense, of course. This time, it was with umbrellas. You know, because of the expensive suits and all.

While the Marine who’s holding the parasol for the visiting prime minister does so in a pretty normal fashion, the Marine holding one for the President of the United States does so in a big time, kingmaker fashion.

He’s no dummy.
