In a shocking and inane decision out of Dickson County, Tennessee, a school district has decided to ban the American flag (and all other flags) from “flying on the back of pickup trucks on school property”. This was an amendment on an earlier ban that banned Old Glory (and all over flags) from the school outright and even threatened to boot students from school grounds if they had one on their person.

Pretty ridiculous, huh?

According to FOX13, Dickson County School District said leaders agreed upon the ban and subsequent updated ban after a “summer of controversy surrounding the confederate flag”.

As you may have guessed, plenty of students were pissed with this restriction. They felt that their patriotism was being held hostage, with one telling FOX13 “I just think that’s a right [displaying the American flag] … it’s freedom of expression and I don’t think you should be able to take that away from us.”

Sounds like political correctness gone completely haywire. If you can’t fly the American flag … in America, then? Sorry, it’s hard to wrap one’s head around it. Let’s hope the amended band of waving Old Glory from one’s pickup gets lifted too — and soon.

Shoot, what’s more American than that?
