If you’ve never seen the film series Rambo (which is based on an original novel by David Morrell called First Blood) starring your favorite fake boxer Sylvester Stallone as a hardened military veteran named John Rambo, then allow these three Danny DeVito soliloquies (from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) to get you up to speed:
He does a fair job of boiling down the plot in under a minute. Or thereabouts.
Anyway, it was originally reported by a number of websites that Stallone and company were coming out with yet another installment in the series, this time taking on the Islamic State in Syria — aka ISIS.
That, however, has proved to be a hoax.
According to the ruse, the working title of the film was Last Blood (for obvious reasons) following a trend set in motion by its previous installments: John Rambo going to places where things aren’t good. Like Vietnam, Burma, Afghanistan and Thailand.
This quote from Stallone via The Independent, was made up and isn’t true:
“We have teams scouting Iraq and parts of Syria where Isis have their greatest strongholds,” Stallone genuinely announced at Comic-Con. “We’re working with the locals there to help deliver the most intense and realistic Rambo movie experience ever.”
If any real news breaks about Sly, we’ll be sure to pass it along.
