As you may recall, last week we covered this super-sized “cry of wolf” surrounding Jade Helm 15, the military exercise being conducted in the American Southwest.

Thanks to senior lawmakers in the United States, it’s still a thing. People in and around Texas still believe that America is about to launch a massive takeover and institute martial law. No unfortunately, we’re not kidding.

The gentleman who stars in the video above serves as a pretty accurate illustration of the warped worldview that the conspiratorial stronghold possesses.

See him drive down a public highway hanging out of his car window with his smartphone recording U.S. military vehicles parked at a U.S. military installation that has been there since December 8, 1942: Marine Corps Logistics Base near Barstow, California.

It’s good, rich stuff.

For better or for worse (for worse) his voice is being heard by national leaders, and even elected congressman. He’s being pandered to, and it’s not exactly being done lightly.

U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) had this to say about the craze recently. Keep in mind he said this in a public forum and to millions of people on a conservative radio show:

You know I’ve gotten a few questions on it on the road, and I really don’t—I’m not sure about exactly what is going on with that.

Interestingly enough, this YouTuber isn’t the only “gonzo” journalist to get weird driving on a highway near Barstow. It has a long and storied history.

It’s classic fear. And loathing.
