Looks like it was terrorism, all along.

According to California law enforcement officials Friday, one of the two people responsible for the mass shooting outside the disability clinic that killed 14 innocent people (and wounded 21 others) had pledged allegiance to ISIS (Islamic State) and its supreme leader.

Tashfeen Malik, 27, the Pakistani gunwoman and wife of the other shooter Syed Farook, said as much on a Facebook page, although it’s not clear as of yet when she did.

In it, she referred to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the “emir” of ISIS (pictured above) who captained the terrorist group to widespread dominance in both Syria and Iraq.

Although there are no signs they were encouraged or ordered or even sponsored by ISIS to go ahead with the murders.

An unidentified source told The New York Times that “at this point we believe they were more self-radicalized and inspired by the group than actually told to do the shooting.”

This from the Washington Post:

Since the massacre Wednesday — which also wounded 21 people — officials have scrambled to determine whether they were looking at a terrorist attack or an extremely unusual and lethal case of workplace violence. They have also revealed that the attackers had amassed an arsenal of explosives and ammunition, suggesting the possibility of further violence.

Police said they had found a number of items — including thumb drives, computers and cellphones — that were being analyzed to investigate the couple’s digital trail.

However, the senior law enforcement official said Friday that the attackers sought to destroy some of the devices. Some were smashed into little pieces, said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation.

Both Farook and Malik were killed in a shootout with police Wednesday evening.
