The idiom “busy as a bee” may soon take on a whole new connotation.

According to Reuters, the Polish military — along with the Polish firm WB Electronics — has developed “Bee” drones: a system of miniature drones operated by surrounding vehicles that can fly on a battlefield for 30 minutes offering surveillance and even incendiary capabilities.

Once they get close enough to their intended target, they explode.

The eastern European nation says the tiny war machines will very soon be supporting their “Wolverine” Rosomak armored, tank-like personnel vehicles.

“There is no other head this small in the world with two in-built cameras and which is also electromechanically stabilized by a gyroscope in two dimensions. This is an absolutely unique solution,” the company’s Director For Research and New Technologies Wojciech Komorniczak told Reuters.
