A South Korean man’s knife attack on Mark Lippert – the United States Ambassador to Seoul – was hailed by North Korea today through its propaganda-churning Korean Central News Agency as a “a knife-attack shower of justice” that reflected “public opinion” in the wake of recent recent U.S.-South Korea military drills.

The alleged assailant, Kim Ki-jong, 55, slashed Lippert, 42, on the face and wrist with a 10-inch fruit knife yesterday spilling blood all over a breakfast table while the ambassador attended a morning meeting.

Security then grabbed the knife-wielding man with one of the officers pinning him down with a shoe.

Not surprisingly, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry had strong words in in the aftermath of the attack.

He assured the world that America would not be “intimidated or deterred by threats or by anybody who harms any American diplomats”.

Lippert was taken to the hospital with his injuries and will – thankfully – recover. He even took a little time to tweet.
