Contrary to Hollywood belief, Kentucky’s own Johnny Depp has never won an Oscar. He’s been nominated for “Best Actor” three times though, once for Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, once for Finding Neverland, and once more for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
Which, for one of the most recognized film actors in the world, must be tough. As petty as it may seem, in the silver screen industry, one isn’t fully recognized as “great” until they get handed one of those bald, naked, sword-grasping golden men, and so Depp’s legacy remains lucrative and moneyed but only partially revered.
Fortunately for the former 21 Jump Street star, it looks like he has one signed, sealed and delivered and destined for his mantle next February, thanks to the following performance dials in alongside his beautiful wife Amber Heard.
It’s called Australian Biosecurity.
Here’s the juicy tagline, courtesy of the Australian Government Department of Agriculture and Water Resources:
Australia has a very strict biosecurity laws to protect the health of our people, animals and plants. Everyone entering the country must truthfully declare if they are carrying any items listed on the Incoming Passenger Card.
Got your popcorn? Kleenex? Diaper on? Then hit play and dig in:
Seriously though, as part of a recent plea agreement, Australian officials made them film the video above after ripping up a ten year prison sentence for failing to declare their dogs Pistol and Boo while going through customs before entering the Oceanic nation.
