Actor Gary Sinise, known for several memorable roles including Vietnam veteran Lieutenant Dan in ‘Forrest Gump,’ has taken on a new role. He’s partnered with the Get Skills to Work Coalition to help spread the news about the Get Skills to Work program. This employment initiative helps veterans train for skilled manufacturing careers and get hired for one of the more than 600,000 American manufacturing jobs currently available. A joint venture of GE, Boeing, LinkedIn, Lockheed Martin and others, the Coalition includes local member colleges (e.g. community colleges and trade schools) with accelerated manufacturing training for veterans.
