At least two people have been injured after shots were fired at the front gate to Little Rock Air Force Base in Arkansas, according to a series of reports and tweets from the installation’s official feed.
According to numerous sources, including Little Rock’s Fox 16 and the Jacksonville Police Department, the two people were shot when they tried to gain access to the base.
Below is the the initial tweet from the AFB, which was posted at 11:17 in the morning in Little Rock.
Base security personnel are responding to an incident at the base gate. All base gates are currently closed to traffic.

Military.com is reporting that the two individuals hurt were rushed to a local hospital with the extent of their injuries still unclear.
In the immediate hours following the incident — which happened at around 9:15 in the morning local time — the base advised all personnel to stay away from its main gate area.
The base followed that announcement with this tweet, at 10:57 a.m.:
The base has lifted lockdown. The main gate on Vandenberg remains closed. Harris and Arnold gates are open.
