Salah Abdeslam, one of the men who carried out the tragic Nov. 13 Paris attacks, was captured Friday by police in Brussels.

Belgian minister Theo Francken announced the capture through one glorious tweet: “We’ve got him.”

Abdeslam is the last living orchestrator of the November terrorist attacks. In the immediate aftermath, he slipped out of the country as French law enforcement tracked down his colleagues. He quickly became one of the most wanted men in Europe.

From the New York Times:

Mr. Abdeslam, 26, a Belgian-born French citizen of Morrocan ancestry, is believed to have driven the car that carried a team of terrorists to the Bataclan theater, where 89 people died.

In the hours after the attacks in Paris, and before his identity was widely known, Mr. Abdeslam was overlooked by the French authorities as he returned to Belgium by car.

Authorities believe Abdeslam spent the last four months with his head down in Brussels. His fingerprints were found in several raided apartments, but the militant was always a half step ahead of police. His luck ran out after Belgian police cornered him in another apartment on Friday afternoon. He suffered a leg injury during the raid.
