Radja Nainggolan is a professional soccer player in Europe, making real decent money running around with A.S. Roma, a club in the Serie A league based in Italy. As a matter of fact, but nothing more, he has one thing in common with the dead terrorists responsible for the Paris attacks last week: he’s Belgian.

Perhaps it was this bit of trivia, or his edgy appearance or? Who knows? But something triggered fear in someone or some people, because the police were called earlier this week on him while he lounged in his hotel room in Antwerp — he was fingered for … being a terrorist.

This from The Independent:

According to a report by Belgian newspaper La Dernière Heure, guests at the Radisson Blu Astrid hotel in Antwerp called police on Tuesday night, worried by the appearance of the Belgian-Indonesian midfielder.

When the officers arrived, however, they immediately recognized Nainggolan and realized that the guests had make a mistake.

And you wouldn’t believe how cool the Roma midfielder was about the whole thing. He said he almost (strangely) understood it, saying “Obviously, I have a look that is scary.”

He even snapped this friendly photograph with the police:
