Omar Gonzalez, 43, an Army veteran of the Iraq War who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder plead guilty Friday to two felony counts after jumping the White House fence and running into the iconic mansion with a knife in his pocket last September.

Prosecutors are calling for 12 to 18 months in prison and a fine of anywhere from $3,000 to $30,000.

Gonzalez will remain in custody — without bond — until the sentencing on June 8.

A federal charge of assaulting an officer and Washington, D.C. charges of carrying a dangerous weapon outside a home or business and unlawful possession of ammunition and a large-capacity ammunition feeding device were all dropped.

Upon being apprehended by authorities last fall, 800 rounds of ammunition, two hatchets and a machete were found in Gonzalez’s vehicle parked near the White House on Constitution Avenue NW.
