Gyrocopters. Letters. And now a “harmless” package?

According to the Secret Service, an intruder hopped the White House fence late Sunday night but was quickly apprehended and taken into custody by uniformed officers.

The trespasser tried to gain access to the famous address on the south side of the complex (which faces the Washington Monument) at about 10:25 p.m.

Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary said the individual had a parcel with them, but it was quickly examined to be of no danger whatsoever.

The fence is about eight feet tall and made even bigger headlines in 2014 when someone scaled it, ran across the lawn and even entered the White House itself.
