Despite it looking like a punch-drunk, destitute Union Jack, sales of the always highly-controversial (especially now) Confederate flag shot up by more than 3,260% Tuesday on the popular eCommerce website and online megalodon known as Amazon.

Vanity Fair included a screenshot of the site’s “Patio, Lawn and Garden” section at around 2 p.m. EST today.

Here’s it is:

You don’t have to be John Nash to notice the pattern. Rebel this. Rebel that. It’s a goddamn Confederate shopping spree.

These numbers did, however, come with a ton of bad reviews, many of them roasting the buyers for how they spent their money.

“I wanted everyone to know I was a racist bigot and this did the trick!” wrote one. “I feel like I’m back in the pre-civil war era flying this badge of idiocy. The old lady was so excited I may get a Nazi Germany flag next!”

The revenue-generating onslaught eventually ended, though, at 3 p.m. EST when Amazon announced that it would stop selling the flag.

Jed from down the road apiece followed the Seattle-based giant with an announcement of his own, stating that he would keep on selling it. Jed expects sales to jump in the wake of Amazon and other notable merchants deciding against selling the wavy symbol of Civil War failure.
