You probably know Mr. T as the chain-wearing, mohawk-sporting, bodybuilding Hollywood tough guy from such acclaimed American pop culture bastions as The A-Team or Rocky III or WrestleMania.

But did you know he was also a soldier in the United States Army?

He was. And according to Wikipedia, he did something extraordinary (with an axe) while serving. Let’s just say he’s not going to be wearing the “Mr. Arbor Day” sash anytime soon:

In July 1976, Tureaud’s platoon sergeant punished him by giving him the detail of chopping down trees during training camp at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin, but did not tell him how many trees, so Tureaud single-handedly chopped down over seventy trees from 6:30 am to 10:00 am, until a shocked major superseded the sergeant’s orders.
