The crew of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower is probably more hype for the release of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” than any other Navy aircraft carrier crew. How do we know this?
Because they filmed a shot-for-shot parody trailer on the carrier using the original trailer’s audio and their own uniforms and equipment. Believe it or not, the Star Wars movies can easily be shot on a Navy aircraft carrier, assuming you are willing to take some artistic liberties.
Watch real pilots leap into real fighter jets so they can spar with not-so-real TIE Fighters. See a cross between a bucket and R2D2 rush across the runway to provide technical expertise and cute beeps. And of course, check out that red lightsaber burning menacingly in the darkness.
No, it’s not a real Star Wars film, but it’s the closest we’re gonna get for another month.
To tide you over until the Episode VII’s release on Dec. 18, please enjoy “Sea Wars: The Ike Awakens.”
