It’s also kind of you angry and scary, you know? Like “don’t you even dare of ousting me — don’t you even think of going behind my back, doing me Brutus-style. Launching some coup d’état. Don’t you dare, you mongrels! Because I know what you’re thinking because I’m not just a plant! I’m a plant demigod. Half plant. Half god. And I can read your thoughts and know what you’re think!”

Which is a lie. But this is what shrub despots say to stay rooted in office and affluence. They’re liars.
