If you thought the United States Coast Guard was ONLY in the human saving business, well, take your medicine. Because while they do rescue a mind-boggling amount of wayward/sinking/lonely people on the unrelenting, unforgiving open sea, an animal in need can also rely on their heroic skills.
Take, for instance, the following footage, which shows members of the USCG saving a “distressed” dolphin after it flipped into a boat near Back Bay, Florida.
“The Coast Guard coordinated with a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission marine biologist who determined the dolphin should be placed back into the water as quickly as possible to ensure the dolphin’s survival,” the Pentagon said in statement.
The service members were from the Fort Myers Beach Coast Guard station.
