While only two percent of the American population volunteers for military service, that small group contains multitudes. Military veterans come from all cultures, interests and passions, and Got Your 6’s newest campaign intends to explore everything single one.

Got Your 6, a nonprofit whose name means “I’ve got your back,” works with Hollywood, business and government partners to empower veterans. It’s newest initiative is the #IAm campaign, which will feature the faces and stories of 30 military veterans throughout the month of November.

Got Your 6 director of communications and U.S. Army veteran Kait Hoit told Mashable that the campaign is part of the organization’s larger goal to change how military veterans are perceived.

“Some veterans just don’t self-identify,” Hoit said. “The idea to really show these photographs of a new face, a new generation, will hopefully get other veterans talking more about their experiences and what they’ve been through, and put themselves out there more.”

Many of the people Got Your 6 will feature this month are involved in other veterans groups such as Team Rubicon and the Pat Tillman Foundation.

To participate in the campaign, any military veterans can Tweet @GotYour6 a photo and a story with the #IAm hashtag.
