This was written and posted on Reddit Thursday. It’s the sad lament of someone who lost their family member — a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps — when he decided the pain he was feeling was too much to endure, and committed suicide.
It’s yet another reminder that we need to do more and more to support our veterans, so that sad words like the following aren’t written, and in their stead countless stories of redemption, salvation and fulfillment fill our hearts, minds, letters and, yes, social media too.
May Patrick Smith rest in peace.
