Story?

Who needs an interesting, plausible story when you’ve got scantily-clad blonde cartoon ladies dirty dancing in seashells?

This very well might’ve been the thinking of John Hubley, who directed the following smutty animation film that was produced for the purpose of one thing and one thing only: get United States Navy sailors to re-enlist for the impending war effort (Korean War) in 1949.

Because, to be perfectly honest, the plot is kind of flimsy. Shaky?

In it, a fed up sailor named McGinty believes he’s getting the shaft from the Navy. So, a magical seagull frees him from his military ordeal and soon he experiences civilian life once again … only to find SURPRISE! that NOT being in the military means no dough and no independence (somehow?).
