Seven people were hurt early Wednesday when a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter made what’s being reported as a “hard landing” while attempting to return to the deck of the USNS Red Cloud, which was some 20 miles east of Okinawa, Japan at the time — according to U.S. military officials.

Many media sources, however, are reporting the accident as what it appears to be in the photographs that have been released: a crash.

The cause is still being investigated. Everyone involved in the incident has been accounted for.

More from the Army Times:

The H-60 helicopter, which made the hard landing at 1:46 p.m. local time, was damaged, U.S. Forces Japan said in a statement. The USNS Red Cloud, a 950-foot medium-speed roll-on/roll-off ship, was underway about 20 miles east of Okinawa at the time, according to the statement.

The injured personnel, who were conducting a local training mission, were taken to the U.S. Naval Hospital at Camp Foster, Japan, according to the military’s statement. The helicopter remains on the deck of the USNS Red Cloud, which has a landing pad.
