It is American tradition to ‘pour one out’ in tribute to someone we’ve lost. When a servicemen woman ordered two beers from a Buffalo Wild Wings, one for herself and one for her fallen brother, pouring it out was the last thing the restaurant did.

Restaurant server Brian Avery told the servicewoman that the Corona was on the house. Grateful, she scribbled a small note on her receipt and left the Corona unopened.

Rather than pour out the abandoned drink, Avery and his boss placed it beside the American flag.

In a widely-shared Facebook post, Avery posted a photo of the Corona bottle and the receipt with this message:

A Military Woman came into my work today for Lunch, she ordered a Blue Moon and a Corona, I told her she could only do one beer at a time, She said the Corona was for her brother who died in Iraq and I won’t be drinking it… It just sat next her at a empty seat her entire Lunch… When I brought her bill I told her Buffalo Wild Wings will be buying that beer… This is what she wrote on her credit card slip… After she left, I didn’t have the heart to dump the beer out and throw it away, so I put it on top of the cooler next the American Flag… When I showed my boss his response was Amazing… He said “That’s Fine, just do me a favor, put a fresh Lime in it Every Morning”..

For this act of kindness, we will certainly raise our Coronas to Buffalo Wild Wings.
