In a developing story first reported just minutes ago, a number of large explosions occurred at the United States’ Sagamihara General Depot in Sagamihara City, Japan. The detonations and the fire that resulted can be seen in the following video:

UPDATE (via Reuters): Japanese authorities have publicly stated that the explosion at the U.S. military base is “extremely regretful”. Fortunately, there are no reports of any injuries and “no harmful chemicals were released”. While still under investigation, Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga has “strongly demanded” that all U.S. military facilities in and around Japan take precautions to prevent such accidents in the future.
