What would you do if you discovered this hateful, handwritten threat on your car windshield while you and your family were home?

“U U.S. soldier. U kill R brothers – U leave here NOW.”

One Purple Heart recipient had to consider that question after he discovered such a note on his car in early April.

The spelling is a comical, but the message is anything but. Staff Sgt. Thomas Keane of St. Cloud, Minn. served in the Army for 24 years and was awarded a Purple Heart during his lengthy service. But even after spending so many years in the military, Keane told Fox 9 that he was “disturbed” by the note.

“I went to turn the car on, and I see the letter on my windshield,” Keane told Fox 9. “It’s just disturbing.”

Keane’s story was posted to Facebook by fellow veteran Jonathan Ksepka. In a post that has been shared over 10,000 times, Ksepka shared a photo of the note and asked the community to keep an eye out for suspicious characters.

A fellow veteran living in St Cloud was leaving his house this morning (4/4/16) and found this on the windshield of his van. This happened in his driveway while he and his family where home! To all my brothers and sisters out there please give this as much visibility as you can. Watch your 6 and stay safe.

As Kspeka said, St. Cloud area veterans should watch your six!
