According to local authorities in Riverside, California, a United States Navy veteran who was intentionally hit by a car and killed will be given full military burial honors, on March 13, at Riverside National Cemetery.

On February 3, Raymond John Cool, 60, was struck and killed by a car in a corner of a parking lot. The driver of the vehicle — Lawrence Aaseng — has already plead not guilty to murder and assault with a deadly weapon.

Cops say after Aaseng fatally hit Cool with the vehicle, he reversed and hit a car while trying to leave the scene. They believe the two men did not know one another.

The vet died not far from where lived (he’s shown in the above photograph — an image taken by his brother).
