If it weren’t for the fact that the United States Marine Corps officially made Bugs an honorary Marine master sergeant (initially a private with dog tags and all, he was discharged after World War II with the loftier rank), this clip would be portraying a paragon of “stolen valor”.
Released during the war in 1943 and titled “Super-Rabbit”, it features the one and only Mel Blanc voicing the rabbit with the unmistakable Bronx/Brooklyn accent as he marches and sings the Marines famous theme to the chagrin of his adversaries. He even pumps up the Corps with a nice salute to their heroism in the beginning.
