A sailor, a Marine and an archer from the Knights Templar walk into a military recruiting office and ahh …

Sounds like the opening line of a joke right? It does. But believe it or not, it’s not farcical. This actually happened, like the other day.

New York native Joseph Frye, a former Marine, was reportedly tired of the United States government (according to him) failing to protect the Americans who sign up to protect. So, he decided to take action … and dress up as a member of the Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and the Temple of Solomon — otherwise known as the Knights Templar — and guard one of his local military recruitment centers.

Armed with a bow and arrows that he made himself (because he doesn’t have a gun license).

More from the Times-Herald Record:

Dressed in full medieval knight regalia – including a 10-pound steel helmet – Frye, of Jeffersonville, stood Thursday in front of the Peach Tree building on Broadway where a Marines Recruiting Office is located.

Frye was joined by his wife, Annette Nazari, and Harris resident William Richards in what he referred to as a “fire watch.”

All three have military experience. Frye is a Marine veteran, Nazari is a Navy veteran, and Williams spent four years in the Marines and three years in the Army.

Frye said he plans to do this every Thursday. Next week he said he’ll be in Middletown.

It’s still unclear, however, whether or not Frye says “ni!”
