When ten year-old Darren Groome visited the graves of his great grandfather and great uncle in Florida National Cemetery, he showed the world how to honor our troops without saying a word.

Both of Darren’s ancestors were WWII veterans. His great grandfather was a Marine veteran and Purple Heart recipient, and his great uncle served in the Army. When Darren saw all the graves in the cemetery belonging to military veterans from long ago wars, he held up the American Sign Language symbol for “I love you.”

“He was in awe and learned about who served and fight for our freedom,” his mother said.
