A Boston neighborhood Veterans Affairs hospital is closed all this week (up until Friday) because of “major water spill” that was caused when it got too cold in New England, and the building’s infrastructure simply couldn’t handle it.
Crews are currently cleaning up the mess.
What happened exactly?
Allow the old Boston Globe to fill in:
Over the Valentine’s Day weekend, freezing temperatures caused pipes to burst and water to spill into the hospital.
Veterans who receive care at the Jamaica Plain [neighborhood] campus will be treated at other locations or will be able to speak with doctors over the phone, VA Boston said.
There will also be extended clinic hours, mobile medical units, and temporary clinics.
Frigid temperatures in Boston? Cold, nastiness in Beantown? Whoever heard of that?
