No film confrontation quite compares to the Spartan kick from ‘300.’

King Leonidas, played by Gerard Butler, is holding his sword to the neck of a Persian messenger. The messenger, trembling on the precipice of a deep well, chokes out, “This is blasphemy! This is madness!”

“Madness?” Leonidas grumbles. “THIS. IS. SPARTA!” He rushes forward and dramatically kicks the messenger square in the chest, sending him tumbling down the well to his death.

Butler’s scene has been parodied a thousand times since the film debuted in 2007, but he can still kick like a Spartan. While promoting his new movie ‘London Has Fallen,’ Butler visited Camp Pendleton to swap martial arts moves with Marines.

During his visit, Butler watched a demonstration performed by the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program. Afterwards, he taught a few Marines who to deliver their own ribcage-crushing Spartan kick.

Butler was also invited to the Marine Corps Ball by a hopeful service member…and he accepted!
