A pilot crashed a United States F-16 aircraft Tuesday morning in the Bavaria region of German, according to the U.S. Air Force. The aviator ejected out of the fighter before it hit the ground, and is reportedly safe with minor injuries.

The pilot took off about 90 miles west of Frankfurt, at the USAF’s Spangdahelm Air Base in the western half of the European nation. The plane is part of the 480th Fighter Squadron, otherwise known as the “Warhawks”.

According to numerous reports, the airman was on a training mission near the U.S. Army Garrison in Grafenwoehr and was carrying six 25 pound Mk-76 training bombs onboard the aircraft.

The cause of the crash has yet to be determined. Stay tuned.
