“I had an apartment, and I recently lost that apartment because I went through major surgery.”
“And I’m out here. And I’m not trying to stay out here.”
Luke’s story is not strange or unique. Unfortunately, it’s quite common.
He’s also a Vietnam combat veteran.
Despite not having a place to live, the former service member is studying and taking classes.
He’s enrolled at Los Angeles City College, and maintains a 3.0 GPA. He majors in psychology, and in his spare time, works with troubled youth.
