“When we showed up here at Port Everglades Fleet Week we ran into a local sheriff and they told us they had a local hero here, Marine aviator who flew in World War II and over a hundred combat missions in Korea. And he needed his American flag replaced on his front lawn.”

So, the USMC had a brand new one flown that morning on the USS New York, and did just that.
They also got to meet a real American hero.
“I’m really red, white and blue. I mean, that’s all I can say. [I’m] so pro-American and so … and I don’t even know how to say it. I’m a Marine,” said 93-year-old Captain Robert “Woody” Woodbury.
