While most of us don’t want to admit it, we all suffer from anxiety. It comes and goes, sometimes greater than at other times, but it’s always there in some capacity, ready to pounce and remind us that we’re human and we get nervous about, well, life.
First off? Don’t worry. It’s as normal as normal can be.
Secondly, if you’re still nervous? That’s okay too. Because we have another cool remedy first introduced somewhere on the interwebs a couple of years ago, in 2014.
Read the instructions, follow them, and then watching the unfolding origami-like animation below it:
And it’s not just the internet who says it works. Doctors — as in real life medical professionals — praise its magical healing powers too.
For anyone with #anxiety, Follow this and Just #breathe deeply. Ahhh… http://t.co/IEKahcHT7b

This from Connections Mic:
The National Center for Biotechnology Information reports anxiety is a prevalent disorder that goes commonly underdiagnosed and improperly treated. The Anxiety and Depression Association of Americaestimates the number of Americans 18 and older living with anxiety to be 40 million, or about 18% of the entire population.
As Time reports, a variety of factors can increase anxiety among young people, a group that continues to have higher stress levels compared to other age groups, citing financial problems and relationship angst as some of the biggest causes. Anxiety, or the feeling of concern or apprehension caused from mental, physical or perceived stress, can be treated with a number of techniques, and breathing exercises being one of the most popular.
As AnxietyBC notes, “calm breathing,” or the method of slow breathing with a focus on expanding and contracting the diaphragm, is a common tool many people with anxiety use throughout the day to relieve themselves from the discomfort brought on by anxiety.
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, otherwise known as PTSD, also elicits anxious feelings, and can be aided by breathing exercises. However, we suggest utilizing this tactic only after a talk with an experienced mental health professional.
Here’s a great resource for finding someone to talk to safely and confidentially.
