This, of course, is the X-47B — a creation of the aerospace and defense technology giant Northrop Grumman, and the mother of all drones everywhere.
That’s correct: it’s an unmanned “combat air system”, meaning there’s no human inside. Just a few controlling it elsewhere.
Watch this incredible clip from a couple of years ago when it landed on the USS George H.W. Bush, coming into the big flat boat at 145 knots, grabbing a tail hook, then coming to a stop within less than 350 feet.
