Scheduling an appointment with your VA doctor — or other professionals from your VA health care team — has been for decades, like any other doctor’s appointment, scheduled using a telephone. With the introduction of new web platforms, however, ringing someone at a physician’s office to set up a time to get checked out isn’t the only option anymore.

Veterans now have the ability to set something up with their VA doctor through a website.

Click here and you’ll be taken to a login/signup screen. Go through it — you’ll be entered into a secure messaging system, where you can either communicate with your VA physician/medical team or set up/cancel appointments.

If you have an emergency, go to the nearest emergency room or call 911.

If you’re crisis, call the Veterans Crisis Line at 1-800-273-8255. You can also get support online by clicking here (it’s a confidential Veterans chat) or text 838255.

To schedule an appointment by phone, find your VA health facility’s number here.

If you’re trying to make appointments with a doctor from a non-VA facility (through the Community Care Program or otherwise) you’ll need to contact them directly — this online option isn’t viable
