Veterans and active service members now have the ability to check the status of their Post-9/11 G.I. Bill benefits entirely online.

To do so, click here.

Once you verify your status as a veteran through the site’s popup window (it should say ID.me at the top) you’ll be brought back to Vets.gov, where it’ll provide you with the same information on your Certificate of Eligibility (COE) as well as your benefits status (total months received, months you’ve used, months you have left to use) and the end date. Enrollment history (if you have any) is found below this.

In fact, if you lost or misplaced your COE, you can print out the page (there’s a blue “Print Statement of Benefits” button near the top) and it’s official — it can serve the same exact function as the COE. Hand it over to college or university administration to prove you have education benefits.

If you haven’t applied for G.I. Bill benefits and would like to, you can do so here.
